Danielle Le Pon - 2006 Mattingly Scholarship Recipient

Danielle Le Pon is a young professional in child and youth care who has had extensive experiences working with children of great age range and in many types of settings. One of her gifts she uses in her work with children is music. Her sound developmental foundation and talent in music combines to form strong relationships with young children through adolescents that make significant contributions to the development of those who work with her.  Among the qualities described by supervisors are collaborative, creative, a leader, and future professional leader.

Danielle’s formal education includes earning a B.A. degree in Child and Adolescent Development at California State University Northridge and soon completing a Master’s Degree in the at-risk program at Harvard University.

Danielle is deeply committed to a professional career in child and youth care. She has demonstrated leadership in many capacities ranging from being a Student Advisor and student organization president in her undergraduate work to working as a staff at the FICE International Youth Conference in Scotland in 2004. She will also be co-presenting at the North American International Child and Youth Care Conference in Montreal in October and at the FICE International Congress in Sarajevo in September.

Danielle is using her scholarship toward costs of the North American Child and Youth Conference in Montreal. We look forward to reading Danielle’s report of her conference experience on our ACYCP web site and to her contributions to our profession.
