Project Outreach
Since its founding as the National Association for Child & Youth Care Association, Inc. in the late 1970s, the Association for Child & Youth Care Practice, Inc. Board has been committed to promoting and encouraging the development of state or regional child and youth care associations and organizations.
Child and youth care associations are not unions; rather they are organizations committed to improving and promoting the field of child and youth care work. State child and youth care organizations such as the ones in Texas, Ohio, and Wisconsin provide leadership, training, and advocacy for its members, the field, and the youth they serve.
At present, ACYCP and its Board are working with child and youth care professionals in Louisiana, Oklahoma, Maine, Iowa, Illinois, New Mexico, and Arizona in the establishment of professional associations.
