Our member organizations and associations are actively promoting the field of child and youth care.  Below are some of the upcoming events.

  • ACYCP Annual Meeting
    The Association for Child and Youth Care Practice will hold its annual meeting on February 4 & 5, 2008 in Huron, Ohio prior to the Ohio Association Conference above.

  • The Wisconsin Association of Child and Youth Care Professionals (WACYCP) is looking for a few more workshop presenters for its 2008 Annual Conference, March 19 at UW-Milwaukee School of Continuing Education.  
         You don’t have to be a professional or semi-professional “presenter” to submit a proposal, and youth-led workshops are highly valued.  If you have experience in some aspect of child and youth care work and would like to share what you’ve learned with your colleagues in the field, please contact us.  This is a great way to help others to become better youth care workers, plus gain some well deserved recognition for your skills, knowledge and contributions to our specialty within the field of Human Services.  Past workshops have included: “Don’t Be Afraid of Your Racial Identity”, “Using Humor In Youth Work”, “Take the Lead-Youth in Charge”, “Engaging Kids with Positive Hip Hop”, and “Interventions for Clients With Challenging Behaviors”. So you can see that there are a wide range of topics and levels to appeal to every background and interest.
