Membership

acycp, a non-profit corporation tax exempt under section 501(c)(6) of the IRS tax code, is a voluntary educational, scientific and professional organization whose purpose is to support and develop programs, activities and organizations which will enhance the competence and professional status of child and youth care workers. Included in this purpose is a commitment to increase the public’s awareness of the need for quality child and youth care and its direct relationship to the future welfare of society.

Membership Costs

Individual Memberships: $35.00 per year

Organizational/Agency Membership: $300.00 per year

Support Organization: $1,000 per year

Benefits of Membership:  What We Do

As a member, you are promoting activities that further the development and professionalism of the field of child and youth care.  Benefits include:

• Associations to offer the International Child and Youth Care Conferences every three years since 1982. These conferences offer an international forum for sharing innovative approaches and research. Members receive a discount on these conferences.

• ACYCP sponsored the North American Certification Project in collaboration with the International Leadership Coalition for Professional Child and Youth Work. This project has conducted a metaanalysis of CYC competencies that span all major practice settings and is implementing a national credentialing program for professional CYC practitioners.  Our partner organization, the Child & Youth Care Worker Certification Board now offer a professional certification in child and youth care based on our work.  Members receive a discount on this certification.

• ACYCP owns the Journal of Child and Youth Care Work. This peer reviewed journal is devoted to the promotion of professional child and youth care practice and practitioners that publishes a broad range of articles of interest to academics, students and practitioners who are concerned with all aspects of intervention with young people. Members receive a discount on the purchase of this journal.
